Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan and Union Minister of Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi launched the Guidelines for Co-location of Anganwadi Centres with Schools at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Mr. Pradhan said that the step will ensure complete care for every mother and child, and strengthen the foundation of learning in line with the National Education Policy 2020.
He emphasised the role of Anganwadi workers as the first teachers in a child’s life and stressed the use of AI and technology in
teaching Indian languages.
He also added that guidelines focus on the smooth transition of children from Anganwadis to schools, better health and nutrition, and higher retention in primary education.
The Minister also announced that within three years, nearly 2 lakh schools across India will be connected with broadband, enhancing digital learning. Mr. Pradhan also highlights community participation and integration of initiatives like NIPUN Bharat and Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi.
