In the wake of disruptions across airports nationwide, the Civil Aviation Ministry has ordered IndiGo to curtail 10% of its operations, following a meeting between Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, MoCA Secretary Sameer Sinha, and IndiGo CEO Peter Elbers, as part of measures to curb the airline’s soaring cancellations.
Following the order, IndiGo said it will continue to serve all its destinations while complying with the 10% curtailment of operations mandated by the Civil Aviation Ministry.
Confirming the same on X, Naidu wrote that IndiGo will continue to operate on the
same routes as before, with a "curtailment of 10%."
"Today again, @IndiGo6E CEO Pieter Elbers was summoned to the Ministry to provide an update. He confirmed that 100% of the refunds for flights affected till 6th December have been completed... The Ministry considers it necessary to curtail the overall IndiGo routes, which will help in stabilising the airline’s operations and lead to reduced cancellations," Naidu said.
Earlier in the day, Elbers claimed that the crisis-ridden airline is back in business as it continues to solve all pending customer issues.
