Central Bureau of Investigation has registered preliminary enquiry against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh who resigned over corruption allegations. The preliminary enquiry was registered on the instructions of Bombay High Court, which passed an order



on Monday in this regard.

The High Court had ordered the CBI to hold preliminary enquiry into former Mumbai police chief Param Bir Singh’s allegations against Anil Deshmukh running an extortion wing.
