RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav on Friday hit out at the BJP government at the Centre claiming that investigating agencies like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) were functioning as wings of the ruling party.

The RJD leader who was speaking for the first time on the arrest of former home and finance minister P Chidambaram by the CBI in the INX Media case said that Narendra Modi government was acting against the opposition leaders due to political vendetta.

"Opposition leaders are being targeted due to political vendetta. Action against opposition leaders are politically-motivated," Tejaswi Yadav said.

He, however, said that he hopes for free and fair investigation in the P Chidambaram case. Tejaswi Yadav said that people have faith in the judiciary.

The leader of the opposition also said that the BJP government was using the constitutional institutions for its political gains. He alleged that in the last five years the constitutional institutions have been weekend to suit the BJP.

Tejaswi further added that negative politics had become the order of the day since 2014 when the BJP came to power. He said that the BJP treated Opposition leaders as personal enemies and making the investigating agencies to go after them.
