Mumbai: The Budget Session of the Maharashtra legislature will commence from the 27th of February 27 to the 25th of March, and the fiscal 2023-24 Budget will be presented by Deputy Chief Minister and finance minister Devendra Fadnavis on the 9th of March.
The decision on the Budget Session was taken at a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the legislature, chaired by Speaker Rahul Narvekar and deputy chairman of the Legislative Council Neelam Gorhe.
The
Session will start on the 27th of February with the address of the Governor. Henceforth, a newly recognised State song ‘Jai Jai Maharashtra Majha’ will be played on the first day of every session after Vande Mataram.
Thirteen Bills will be tabled during the Budget session, including five cleared by the State Cabinet and eight more yet to be cleared. In both houses, a special discussion will be held on the 8th of March, International Women’s Day.
