Keralam Chief Minister V D Satheesan on Saturday hailed the selflessness of a 30-year-old soldier from Kollam whose organ donation helped give a new lease of life to seven people.
Sources said the young soldier suffered brain death while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here.
In a post on 'X', Satheesan said soldier Rahul Rajeev, who had served the nation in Himachal Pradesh, donated his organs through
the Kerala State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (K-SOTTO) after his death.
He also commended the Kerala Police for swiftly facilitating a green corridor from Thiruvananthapuram to Thiruvalla to ensure timely transportation of the organs for transplantation.
"Rahul's legacy of compassion will forever inspire Keralam," the chief minister said, while expressing heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
