In Gujarat, BJP has retained the power in Junagadh civic body polls by winning 54 seats out of total 60 seats. Nationalist Congress Party won four seats while Congress managed to get one seat only. Counting of votes for 59 seats had begun after polling held on Sunday. Fifty per cent polling was recorded in Junagadh Civic polls. Polling was not held on one seat following the rejection of nomination



papers.

Meanwhile, BJP has also won majority of the seats in by-polls of District and Taluka Panchayats as well as the civic body. BJP won 36 seats out of total 46 seats of Taluka Panchayats. At the other end, Congress managed to win seven seats while three seats won by others. BJP also won all five seats of by polls of District Panchayats and one seat of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation.
