Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Hyderabad on Sunday to take part in the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) national executive meeting. Addressing a public meeting, PM Modi referred to Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar in his speech and said that the time is up for dynasty politics.

PM Modi said that the campaign to unite India was initiated by Sardar Patel in Bhagyanagar.

PM Modi took a jibe at Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and said that the time is up for dynasty parties and youth are rejecting dynasty politics.

"The country is fed up with dynastic politics and dynastic political parties. It is difficult for such parties to survive long. Parties which ruled India for long are in terminal decline now.

We should not mock them but learn from their mistakes," he said.

PM Modi also hit back at opposition parties for questioning the BJP's democratic credentials and asked what was the status of democracy within their organisations.

"BJP workers are being killed in West Bengal. A good governance is pro-people and pro-active. The BJP is now in power and people have trusted us. We should take out a Sneh Yatra and reach out to all sections of society," the prime minister said.

"PM Modi said that Hyderabad is Bhagyanagar which is a significance for all of us. Sardar Patel kept the foundation of a unified India and now it's BJP's responsibility to carry it further," BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad was quoted by ANI as saying.
