BJP Names Badlapur Sexual Abuse Case Co-Accused as Councillor

In a significant development, the Special court Assam has started trial in the cases of Manipur violence and also framed the charges against the accused in the horrifying case in which three women were sexually assaulted and paraded by a mob in May 2023. 

The Special Court basing the charge-sheet of the CBI framed the charges against six people in the sexual assault case, which took



place on May 4, 2023.

While the three women assaulted by the mob, the father and brother of one of them was murdered. In the case of the women being paraded naked, the Special CBI Court of Justice Chatra Bhukhan Gogoi framed charges on January 2 against Huirem Herodash Meitei, Arun Khundongbam, Ningombam Tomba Singh, Yumlembam Jiban Singh, Pukhrihongbam Suranjoy Meitei and Nameirakpam Kiran Meitei.
