BJP comes down heavily on Azam Khan for remarks on Modi

BJP  came down heavily on Uttar Pradesh Minister Azam Khan over his remarks that underworld don Dawood Ibrahim was present during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif in Lahore. Party Secretary Shrikant Sharma asked Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to prove the charges or apologise for the



baseless remarks by his minister. 

He alleged that Khan's comments are desperate attempt to hide the failures of Samajwadi Party's government and divide the people. Mr. Sharma also accused Khan of fomenting riots in Muzaffarnagar saying it was under his pressure that UP police failed to act against molesters in the incident.
