Biryani tops Swiggy charts as India’s favourite dish in 2025

Foodies’ love for biryanis remained strong with 93 million biryanis ordered through Swiggy across India the year 2025.

According to Swiggy’s data on orders in 2025, 194 orders for biryanis were received per minute, which translates to 3.25 biryanis every second.

Among the biryanis, chicken biryani topped the list with 57.7 million orders, with the highest number of repeat orders



during the year.

The 10th edition of How India Swiggy’d, a snapshot of India’s love affair with food and a recap of the year’s delicious highlights, had burgers as the second most loved with 44.2 million orders, followed by pizzas with 40.1 million orders. 

Another favourite dish was dosa with 26.2 million orders, proving that this crispy, golden classic is much loved by foodies.
