Ruling party Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today formed its own trade union wing Biju Shramik Samukhya (BSS) following approval of party's supremo Naveen Patnaik.
Party's former legislator Rajendra Prasad Singh was appointed as the president of the organisation. Prafulla Samal and Subas Singh have been appointed as working president and general secretary respectively, informed BJD vice president Surjya Narayan Patro in a press
release.
Similarly, BJD leaders Anup Sai, Lalit Nayak, Baidyanath Das, Ananta Narayan Jena, Panchanan Senapati, Gokul Meher, Amrut Das and Dilip Kumar Kar have been appointed as the vice presidents of BSS.
While TV Patnaik has been assigned as the treasurer of party's trade union wing, MLA Debashish Samantray, MLA Sushant Kumar Behera, MLABraja Kishore Pradhan and former MLA Sarada Nayak have been appointed as advisors of BSS, Patra said.
