Patna: Bihar police on Thursday night recovered the bodies of an 82-year-old retired commissioner and his wife at their residence in Buddha Colony near capital city Patna. The deceased, Harendra Prasad had retired as a commissioner in the Irrigation Department. He and his wife were found lying in the drawing room of their home.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manu Maharaj told media personnel that prima facie the case seems to be one of murder. He also said that injury marks were found on both the



bodies which were discovered by relatives who rushed the couple to a hospital where they were declared dead upon arrival.

The mysterious deaths have sent a wave of shock and fear across residents of the area. Senior police officials reached the scene and assured kin of the victim that they will conduct a thorough investigation into the deaths of the retired civil servant and his wife. Reports also suggest that the police have detained four individuals including the deceased couple’s driver and domestic help.
