A Bank Manager from Rajasthan was shot dead by terrorists in south Kashmir's Kulgam district today. The incident comes just two days after a school teacher Rajni Bala was killed in Gopalpora area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir.
As per official sources, terrorists barged into the bank and fired upon the Bank Manager, identified as Vijay Kumar, who was posted at Ellaquai Dehati Bank (EDB) at Areh Mohanpora, in Kulgam district. Vijay Kumar, who hailed from Hanumangarh in Rajasthan, was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
This is the second targetted attack on minorities during the last three days in Kashmir Division.
Meanwhile, the area has been cordoned off by the security forces and a massive
manhunt was launched to nab the assailants.
Earlier in the day, three soldiers were injured in a blast in Sedhow village in south Kashmir's Shopian district this morning.
According to the Jammu and Kashmir police, the blast took place in a private vehicle after which the injured soldiers were hospitalised. However, the nature and source of the blast has not been ascertained yet and is under investigation.
The injured personnel were immediately shifted and given first aid at district hospital Shopian and thereafter evacuated to Army's 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar. One soldier is critical while two other injured are stable till the reports last came in. Further details are awaited.
