The Department of Railways was expanding its services for the welfare of passengers of all categories. Recently, the railways introduced Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVM) at stations to issue general tickets to the passengers before 3 hours of the arrival of respective trains.
To avoid desperation and tension among the passengers at the last minute, ATVM machines were introduced at all major stations in the district. At present passengers can get general tickets at station ticket counters and at ATVMs located near to ticket counters. In future, ATVMs may become essential due to their unique features.
These machines look like bank ATM machines and tickets will be issued by franchisee operator through his smart card. Passengers have to pay money in cash to him and he will issue the

destination tickets through his ready money loaded smartcard. These ATVMs are giving 24X 7 services to the public in an effective manner.
Department of Railways was giving ATVM franchisees to the retired railway employees on two to five percent commission on every ticket they issue to the passengers. In Nalgonda district, the ATVMs were rendering their services at Bhongir, Aler, Nalgonda and Miryalaguda Railway Stations.
It is leant that any passenger can get a smart card from the railway ticket issuing counters of the stations where ATVMs were located and have to re-charge it like mobile by paying top-up money.  Then, the passenger concerned can get general tickets himself from ATVM by giving inputs like boarding point, destination point and type of train (passenger, express, superfast).
