Assam Girl Decapitates Mother, Spends Night With Severed Head In Forest

The Assam police on Friday said that they have arrested a 19-year-old girl who allegedly beheaded her mother with a machete and was found hiding with the severed head in a forest area of Deramukh Lalung village in Western Karbi Anglong district. 

Informing that the incident took place on Wednesday night, police said that the body of the mother, identified as Anumai Malang (42), has been sent for



postmortem.

The officer in-charge of Baithalangsu police station Diganta Saikia said,“We recovered the severed head and the murder weapon from her possession. She was arrested and later produced before a court.” 

He said that the suspect, identified as Pooja Malang, has been booked under Section 103 (murder) and 119 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
