Launching a scathing attack on the Modi government, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday called the farm laws a "death warrant" for farmers while alleging that the Centre wants to take away their land and give it to a few capitalists.

While addressing a Kisan Mahapanchayat in UP's Meerut, CM Arvind Kejriwal said, "Farmers will become labourers in their own fields, that is why it's a do-or-die situation for them. Today, the BJP led-Central government has filed cases against farmers for carrying out anti-national activities. They call our farmers terrorists."

Adding that the Central government has even left behind the Britishers, Kejriwal said, "The Britishers never oppressed our farmers to this extent nor did they did fix nails on the ground. Even, Britishers did not have this courage. The Centre has even left behind the Britishers," Kejriwal said.

The AAP chief called the ongoing farmers protest as a "noble protest".

"Every person who loves India will never be against this protest. I just want to tell you that I support the farmers protest and hope the Central government repeals the farm laws," he said.

Arvind Kejriwal also alleged the Central government of perpetrating the violence that took place on Republic Day at Red

Fort during farmers’ tractor rally.

"The entire Red Fort incident was planned by them, not the farmers. Many people told me that the demonstrators were deliberately shown the wrong path as they did not know streets of Delhi. Those who hoisted flag were their (BJP) workers. Our farmers can be anything but anti-nationals," Kejriwal said.

He further accused the Centre not only of lacking funds but also lacking pure intentions.

"Just like we have made electricity free for Delhiites, we will do the same for you. You just need to vote for the right party," Kejriwal said.

Accusing the Centre of making false promises to the farmers, Kejriwal said "all farmers voted for the BJP government, got them to power and then this government only told the Supreme Court that MSP will not be made a legal right."

"Central government has betrayed the farmers of our country. This government has crossed all limits. I dare BJP governmnet to show us one mandi where crops are now being sold at MSP. Why are they lying day in day out that crops are being sold at MSP," the AAP leader said.

"MSP can be ensured for all 23 crops without spending any new money. I am an educated person and I know all this. Ruling party shouldn't fool the farmers," Kejriwal added.
