Arrested in sexual assault case, Lingayat mutt chief hospitalised with chest pain

Bengaluru: Influential Lingayat mutt chief Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru, who heads the Jagadguru Murugharajendra Vidyapeetha in Chitradurga in central Karnataka, was arrested from the mutt Thursday night, a week after an FIR was

registered against him for alleged sexual assault of two minor students.

He has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. On Friday, the seer was hospitalised following complaints of chest pain.
