Panic gripped passengers aboard an APSRTC bus near T. Chadipiralla village in Kadapa district after an acid can being transported to the Kadapa depot suddenly burst, releasing fumes inside the vehicle.

The bus was carrying acid cans belonging to a cargo company from Anantapur when the incident occurred. As it reached the outskirts of T. Chadipiralla, one of the cans reportedly burst, causing fumes to spread inside the bus.

Several passengers complained of eye irritation and a

burning sensation. A passenger who noticed the fumes immediately alerted the driver and conductor.

The driver acted swiftly, pulling the bus over to the roadside and allowing all passengers to get down safely. The acid cans were subsequently removed from the vehicle.

Passengers said the driver’s presence of mind and prompt action helped avert a major mishap. Kamalapuram police, who were alerted about the incident, reached the spot and launched an investigation.
