The Andhra Pradesh government's petition challenging Brijesh Kumar Tribunal's verdict regarding sharing Krishna waters came up for hearing in the Supreme Court.

The petition was heard by a bench headed by Justice Surya Kant. However, as the petition needed hearing in an elaborate manner, the bench said that it would be transferred to a special bench and adjourned it to September first

week.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court rejected Karnataka government's appeal seeking interim orders and made it clear there is no need for such orders.

The Andhra Pradesh government moved Supreme Court seeking Centre's intervention in the case and appealed for issuing orders without notifying the Tribunal's verdict.

The petition is being heard in the Supreme Court.
