The Andhra Pradesh government on Friday approved an investment of over Rs 2,500 crore by NSPSL Speciality Chemicals Pvt Ltd to establish a cathode material manufacturing facility in Chittoor district.
Spread across 105 acres in Gudupalle mandal, the project is a significant step towards localising one of the most critical components
in the electronics and battery value chain. Cathode materials are the core functional components of lithium-ion batteries, determining battery performance, energy density, lifecycle, and safety.
They are widely used in electric vehicles (EVs), consumer electronics, electronics hardware, and several other key sectors.
