The Andhra Pradesh government has approved a Disaster Recovery Centre in Tirupati to support the Andhra Pradesh State Data Centre, which functions as the core IT infrastructure for hosting e-governance initiatives and services provided by state government departments, societies, and organisations. 

The Disaster Recovery (DR) Centre will be set up under the Build Own Operate Transfer (BOOT) model with



capital expenditure (CAPEX) funding from the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI).

"The government, after careful examination of the proposal, hereby approves the establishment of Disaster Recovery (DR) Centre for AP (Andhra Pradesh) State Data Centre at IIDT Campus, Tirupati," said N Yuvaraj, secretary, IT, Electronics and Communications Department (ITE&C) in a government order on Tuesday.
