Andhra Couple Leave Child On Chinchinada Bridge, Commit Suicide

In a tragic incident in the district, a young couple committed suicide by jumping off a bridge into the Godavari River, leaving their three-year-old child on the bridge before taking the drastic step on Thursday. 

As per reports, the incident took place at Chinchinada in Yelamanchili mandal, the district. The deceased, identified as Doddasai and Siri, were from Velpur in Tanuku mandal.

Police, who reached the site after getting information of a child found alone on the bridge, immediately reached the spot



and took the child into custody. The couple had come to Chinchinada bridge on a bike at night. Family members said that they had gone to Bhimavaram from Tanuku a month ago. 

Sai works as an ambulance driver in a private hospital in Bhimavaram. Initial reports suggest that the couple died due to financial difficulties.

A case has been registered, and an investigation has been launched into the cause of their death. Meanwhile, police have launched a search operation in the river to trace the missing couple.
