As many as 2,500 hens died at a poultry farm near Siddarampuram in Anantapur district, with officials confirming that the deaths were caused by bird flu.

Following the confirmation, veterinary and health officials took necessary precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the virus to other poultry farms and surrounding areas.

Officials are monitoring the situation and taking steps to contain the

infection.

Authorities advised people to cook chicken thoroughly at temperatures above 75°C before consumption, as properly cooked poultry is considered safe to eat.

Officials also urged people to remain alert and immediately inform the health authorities if anyone develops respiratory symptoms or other illness after coming into contact with infected birds.

Further monitoring and preventive measures are being taken in the affected area.
