New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah yesterday said country is moving towards creating such a disaster management system that not a single life should be lost no matter how severe a disaster may be. He said India is well on course to achieve this.

He was speaking at the 17th Foundation Day celebrations of National Disaster Management Authority as the Chief Guest in New Delhi. The theme of this year's Foundation Day is 'Stopping Impact of Disaster Incidents in the Himalayan



Region'.

On this occasion, Mr Shah released the training manual of Aapda Mitra Scheme and plan documents of Aapda Mitra and Common Alerting Protocol.

Mr Shah said that NDMA, NDRF and State Disaster Response Force have changed the history of disaster management in the country in the last 17 years. He said it is a great achievement that work has been done to link the sensitivity of the country with disaster management.
