The political confrontation between the BJP and the INDIA bloc intensified ahead of the Opposition’s planned march to Ramlila Maidan on Saturday, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah challenging Rahul Gandhi to take the “vote chori” allegations to Parliament for discussion.
Speaking at a BJP state working committee meeting in Lucknow on Friday, Shah said the government was willing to convene a special session of Parliament to debate the allegations against the
Election Commission.
However, he claimed that Gandhi would avoid a parliamentary discussion and instead seek to raise the issue through street protests.
Shah also targeted Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, accusing both Opposition leaders of preferring political drama over parliamentary debate. He rejected the allegations against the Election Commission, likening the Opposition’s claims to a losing team blaming the umpire.
