Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh, who has been summoned by the Congress high command to resolve the political crisis in the State, proved his might by inducting three rebel Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs into the party fold.

The joining of MLAs at a time when the ruling party in Punjab is embroiled in infighting and factionalism led by Najvot Singh Sidhu is been witnessed as a shot in the arm of the Chief Minister who is battling a revolt within the party and all the State unit party leaders including MPs, MLAs have been camping in Delhi and meeting the AICC panel nominated by party chief Sonia Gandhi.

The panel is led by Rajya Sabha MP Mallikarjun Kharge while AICC  general secretary in-charge of Punjab Affairs Harish Rawat and former MP J P Aggarwal are its members.

AAP legislators Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Jagdev Singh Kamalu and Pirmal Singh joined the Congress. Khaira returned to the Congress nearly

six years after quitting it.

The legislators were inducted into the Congress party before Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh was to head for Delhi to attend the meeting with a three-member panel formed to resolve differences among its leaders in Punjab. Singh is now scheduled to meet the panel as well as Sonia and party leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday.

All three-member of the committee spoke to Senior party leader Ambika Soni over phone and took guidance from her. She has sent the letter to Congress President about the situation. Iqbal Singh, Manish Tiwari and other senior leaders also attended the meeting besides state incharge Harish Rawat.

Amarinder Singh and his former cabinet colleague Navjot Singh Sidhu have been at loggerheads in the recent past. Sidhu has publicly criticised the chief minister and has already put his point to the panel a day earlier.
