Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has revoked the expulsion of five MLCs and youth wing leaders from Samajwadi Party. They had been expelled by former state president Shivpal Yadav in September last year.
The orders to this effect were issued by the state president of the party Naresh Uttam Patel in Lucknow yesterday evening. The expulsion of these leaders, all of whom are staunch Akhilesh loyalists, had been done after they raised the banner of revolt against the party leadership when Shivpal Yadav was appointed state president.
The move

had triggered off war within the family and party that escalated leading to recent events in which Mulayam Singh Yadav was deposed from the post of Party president by the Chief Minister.
The leaders whose expulsion has been revoked include MLCs Anand Bhadauria, Sunil Yadav, Sanjay Lathar, Arvind Yadav and Udaivir Singh. The other four leaders who have been taken back into the party are former Mulayam Singh Youth Brigade leaders Gaurav Dubey and Mohammed Ebaad, Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha state chief Brijesh Yadav and Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha leader Digvijay Singh.
