Five personnel were killed after an Indian Air Force AN-32 transport aircraft crashed while landing at an IAF air base in Assam’s Jorhat on Saturday. The co-pilot survived the crash and is currently undergoing treatment. The aircraft caught fire after landing within the air base premises.

In an updated statement, Indian Air Force officials said a court of inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of the crash. They also confirmed the deaths of all five personnel in the accident. Those who died were:

. Flight Lieutenant Shubham Kumar
. Sergeant Jitendra Sharma

. Agniveervayu Danish Alam

The Air Force extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and stood firmly with them in this hour of grief.

According to initial reports, the aircraft caught fire after landing within the air base premises. Firefighting teams were rushed to the spot immediately after the incident.

The Air Force confirmed that five personnel onboard lost their lives in the crash. The co-pilot survived and is receiving treatment. Senior IAF officials reached the site after the accident and emergency response measures were initiated.
