Air force authorities at Pathankot in Punjab have distributed posters to local residents living in villages close to the airbase, showing pictures of gliders, paramotors, etc as part of an awareness drive. The posters also carry telephone numbers of officials to whom the residents can contact if they see such aerial vehicles. The move comes days after airforce authorities pasted posters declaring shoot at sight orders on the

peripheral walls of the station.
Meanwhile, Pathankot SSP Rakesh Kaushal said Punjab police is already on alert. He said security drills are being conducted at regular intervals. Mr Kaushal said, people are being told if they see any suspicious person in their locality, they should inform the police immediately. In January this year, terrorists had attacked the Pathankot airbase in which seven security men were killed.
