Ahead of assembly elections, CV Ananda Bose resigns as West Bengal governor

West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has resigned from his position, sources in the Governor's House have confirmed. The reason for his resignation remains unknown. Bose has left for the national capital, Delhi. His resignation comes just ahead of state elections in West Bengal, which are expected to be announced any day. 

Bose took over as Governor of West Bengal in November 2022 after Jagdeep Dhankhar. Over the past few



months, the Governor and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have been at loggerheads, with various political and social battles between Raj Bhavan and the Chief Minister's office. Official confirmation on whether his resignation has been accepted is still awaited. 

The timing of his resignation, at this critical juncture before state elections, is significant as he will not be completing his term as Governor.
