After misinformation on application, expenditure goes viral, Haj panel issues clarification

The Haj Committee of India issued a circular to clarify “misinformation” related to the announcement of Haj application, expenditure, and arrangements. The misleading information had gone viral on social media, prompting authorities to address it promptly.

“It is observed that frivolous and misleading information pertaining to the announcement of Haj Application, probable expenditure and arrangement pertaining to Haj pilgrimage are



spreading on WhastApp and other social media platforms, which is creating panic and confusion among the public,” the circular said.

The circular clarified that information related to Haj application and issuance of guidelines will be communicated by the Ministry of Minority Affairs and the Haj Committee.

The panel advised people to visit the official website of the Haj Committee of India to get the latest information on Haj 2023.
