Aam Aadmi Party leader Bhagwant Mann will be sworn-in as the chief minister of Punjab today. The oath-taking ceremony will be held in Khatkar Kalan village in Nawanshahr district, the ancestral village of iconic freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.

The swearing-in ceremony of Mr Mann will be a low-profile event with the absence of big political leaders. Mr Mann has invited Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal to the oath-taking



ceremony. No other Chief Minister of any state will be present at the swearing-in ceremony. Only AAP leaders and local leaders of Punjab will be present at the swearing-in ceremony.

Mr Mann tendered his resignation from the membership of Lok Sabha to Speaker Om Birla on Monday. Mr Mann, who contested from Dhuri assembly constituency in Sangrur district, won by a margin of 58,206 votes over Congress' Dalvir Singh Goldy.
