In a major health scare on Friday, nearly 80 people fell ill after consuming almond milk during the Kondamma Thalli festival in Singupuram rural mandal in the district in Andhra Pradesh.

According to one of the victims, he and his friends had bought the milk from a vendor who sold almond milk and falooda drinks from a push cart during the fair held between April 1 and 2. With the

sunny weather, many festival-goers purchased the drinks.

However, by Thursday midnight, many of those who had consumed them began experiencing severe symptoms, including vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and fever with chills.

The victims were rushed to the Singupuram primary health care center, where they are currently receiving treatment under medical supervision.
