8 Killed And 12 Injured in Kurnool Road Accident

Eight people were killed and 12 others injured in a devastating road accident in Kurnool district early on Thursday. 

The mishap occurred near Chilakaladona village in Mantralayam mandal when a Bolero vehicle collided head-on with a ready-mix lorry. 

The deceased were identified as Kumar (60), Deepika Veena (35), Sunil (40), Belli (3), Puttamma (60), Meenakshi (50), Thayamma (60), and Lolakshi.

According to police, five victims died on the



spot, while three others succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Yemmiganur. The injured were rushed to nearby medical facilities, where they are currently receiving treatment. 

The victims are believed to be pilgrims from Karnataka’s Chikmagaluru district, who were on their way to Mantralayam for the darshan of Sri Raghavendra Swamy. 

Police reached the accident site soon after the incident and initiated rescue operations.
