In Tamil Nadu, eight people died and five were injured in a cracker blast at Sattur, Virudhunagar District in Tamil Nadu yesterday. The incident happened at a cracker factory this morning, killing five people on the spot.   More than 50 people are working in the factory in 20 rooms. Due to the blast, five rooms were destroyed. Those who were injured have been admitted to the nearby hospitals. The fire and rescue



services department rescued workers from the rubble.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has offered condolences and announced an ex gratia of four lakh rupees each to the families of those who lost their lives. A compensation of one lakh rupees will be given to the seriously injured and  50 thousand rupees for those who are injured
