In Bihar, seven police personnel were suspended for the lapse in duty after two gunmen went on a rampage in the Begusarai district. One person was killed and 10 people were injured after four unidentified bike-borne assailants opened fire at many places in the district yesterday and fled away after crossing six police stations. SP  Yogendra Kumar said criminals could not be caught due to the negligence of the police patrolling team.

The SP said four criminals were on two bikes. In the meantime, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has called the Director General of Police S K Singhal and instructed him to nab the criminal anyhow. Meanwhile, seven districts including, Begusarai, Patna, Samastipur and Munger have been put on alert and a search operation is on to nab the criminals.  

BJP yesterday criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the law and order situation in the



state.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh and Begusarai MP yesterday met the family members of the deceased. Mr Singh also met those injured persons who are undergoing treatment in hospitals. Condemning the incident The Union Minister said  the criminals indiscriminately fired at several people and travelled 30 km across 4 PS areas, but they weren't caught by police. He said   Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should give a statement on the mass shooting incident.

Union Minister of State for Home Nitiyand Rai said lawlessness is prevailing in Bihar after forming of Nitish Kumar-led grand alliance government in the state.

Briefing reporters in New Delhi, party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad alleged that his party has said many times that if RJD comes to power it will bring back fear in the state.
