Proving that age is no barrier to learning, 63-year-old Sushila Devi from Bhadangi village in Haryana's Rewari district has passed her Class 10 examinations with an impressive 79.6%, taking a significant step towards fulfilling her long-cherished dream of becoming the village sarpanch.

For Sushila Devi, earning a school certificate was never the ultimate goal. Instead, she returned to studies after decades with a clear purpose—to qualify for contesting

panchayat elections and serve her village as its elected head.

Her achievement marks the culmination of a journey that began nearly six decades ago. Forced to discontinue her education after Class 5 due to family circumstances, Sushila spent years carrying the label of being "Class 5 pass". Determined to rewrite her story, she enrolled for the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) secondary examination and secured a first division with an impressive score of 79.6%.
