6 killed as vehicle falls into gorge in Mizoram

Six persons were killed and eight others injured when a passenger vehicle rolled down into a gorge early this morning in Aizawl district of Mizoram.

The accident occurred at Seling village at around 4.30 a.m. when the maxicab was coming from Zokhawthar village in Champhai district near Myanmar



border.All the bodies have been recovered, police said.

There were two children among the injured people and the condition of one of them is stated to be serious.

Though the cause of the accident was yet to be ascertained, it was suspected that the driver might have dozed off, police said.
