A 52-year-old British man is facing up to seven years in prison in Singapore for allegedly concealing a camera inside an aircraft toilet during a flight from Japan to Singapore and subsequently attempting to destroy evidence, according to media reports.

The man, identified as Hugh Lutley, was charged on Thursday with one count each of voyeurism and obstructing the course of justice, Channel NewsAsia reported. The incident took place on October 7

aboard Scoot flight TR821 travelling from Osaka, Japan, to Singapore.

According to the charges, Lutley allegedly concealed a camera inside one of the aircraft's toilets and remotely activated its recording function through a mobile application on his phone after leaving the restroom.

A cabin crew member later discovered the hidden camera while using the toilet. She removed the device and alerted a colleague.
