A 45-year-old woman was allegedly murdered in southeast Delhi's Mount Kailash area on Thursday, with the accused being found at the crime scene and taken into custody, police said.
The victim, identified as Meena, worked as a domestic help and was found lying in a pool of blood on the terrace of a building in Mount Kailash, they said. Police received a PCR call at around 11.36 am, reporting that a woman had been murdered on the terrace of a neighbouring building and was lying blood-soaked at the
spot.
"A team was immediately rushed to the spot and found the victim dead. A man in his 50s was also present near the body when the police team arrived," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Hemant Tiwari said.
During preliminary questioning, the accused allegedly admitted to attacking the woman with a bat and subsequently stabbing her with a knife, the officer said. The accused was immediately apprehended and is being questioned to ascertain the motive behind the killing, police said.
