Sri Lankan Navy apprehended four Indian fishermen from Tamil Nadu, on charges of poaching on Wednesday.

Their fishing trawler was also impounded.

The fishermen were allegedly have been fishing in the sea off the Kovilam Lighthouse of the island nation



when the naval personnel in their Fast Attack Craft detained them.

They were later taken to the naval base at Elara in the Island and are expected to be handed over to it's Fisheries Department in Jaffna for further action.
