In Jammu & Kashmir, the 30th day of continued shut down relatively passed off peacefully today even as protest rallies and cleanliness drives called by the separatists were held in several areas across Kashmir Valley. No untoward incident was reported from any part of the Valley so far. The curfew continued in Khanpora and Chadoora towns of central Kashmir’s Budgam district and Anantnag town in South Kashmir. The restrictions under

Section 144 continued in other south Kashmir districts of Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam besides north Kashmir’s Baramulla, Pattan, Sopore, Kupwara and Bandipora towns.
Meanwhile, a government spokesman in a statement said this evening that barring two incidents of stone pelting where miscreants attacked security force deployments at Warpora and Nowpora in Sopore, the situation in the Valley remained peaceful today.
