The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday filed the First Supplementary Chargesheet before the NIA Special Court at Patiala House, New Delhi, against Tahawwur Hussain Rana in connection with the case linked to the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

The case pertains to a criminal conspiracy involving David Coleman Headley, Tahawwur Hussain Rana, and other operatives of terror outfits Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HUJI) to carry out coordinated terrorist attacks across various parts of India.

The supplementary chargesheet includes documentation related to Rana’s extradition and additional evidence gathered by the NIA since the

original chargesheet was filed in 2011. This development marks a key step in progressing legal proceedings against Rana, who was extradited from the United States earlier this year.

In compliance with the court’s June 6 order, the NIA has also submitted a compliance report under Section 207 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), confirming the supply of relevant documents from the earlier chargesheet to the accused.

Tahawwur Rana, a Canadian national of Pakistani origin, was extradited rom the US in April after 14 years of chase. He was arrested by the NIA upon his arrival to Delhi.

Further investigations into the case are ongoing.
