A 24-year-old woman died in a road accident near Yetukuru on the outskirts of Guntur on Sunday evening. 

The deceased was identified as Shaik Asifa, daughter of Vijayawada Traffic DCP Shareen Begum. According to reports, Asifa, along with her friends Rutvik, a gym trainer, Avinash, Sudheer and Vamsi, all natives of Tadepalli, had gone to Chirala on Sunday morning as it was a holiday.

They were returning to Tadepalli in the evening when the accident occurred near



Yetukuru.

When they reached the area, the lorry driver allegedly applied sudden brakes. Avinash, who was driving the car, reportedly lost control and the vehicle rammed into the lorry from behind before hitting the road divider. The car's airbags deployed during the accident. 

However, Asifa, who was seated in the back seat sustained severe head injuries. Highway patrolling personnel reached the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared Asifa dead.
