230 crore Aadhaar authentications in June reflect 7.8% growth

Aadhaar number holders carried out nearly 230 crore Aadhaar authentication transactions in June this year, reflecting 7.8 per cent growth over the same month last year. The  Electronics and IT Ministry said, the growth underlines the extensive usage and utility of Aadhaar, and the growth of the digital economy in the country. 

The growing transactions show how Aadhaar-based authentication has been playing



the role of a facilitator for effective welfare delivery, and voluntarily availing various services offered by service providers. The Ministry said it is a catalyst for ease of living for millions of people. In June this year, a record number of over 15 crore face authentication transactions were recorded, as against 4.61 crore such transactions in the corresponding month last year
