Gangtok: The two-day second meeting of the Startup20 engagement group, which has been newly formed under India’s G20 Presidency, will begin in Gangtok, Sikkim today. The meeting will invite delegates from G20 member and invitee countries, representatives from multilateral organisations, and stakeholders from the Indian startup ecosystem. 

Startup20 chair Dr. Chintan Vaishnav has said, the Sikkim Sabha offers a unique opportunity to bring the startup world to the pristine North East of India and showcase its unique and growing ecosystem.

The Sikkim Sabha will forward the agenda finalised during the inception meeting held in Hyderabad on the 28th and the 29th of January 2023.

secretary VB Pathak has informed that around 200 participants will attend the Startup20 Sikkim Sabha. He said that the event will be different from traditional meets and would involve brainstorming sessions that encourage idea exchange and discussions among young entrepreneurs in small groups. A variety of side events such as Startup20X events, startups showcase at Gangtok’s iconic MG Marg, and delegates’ visits to the Rumtek Monastery are also planned. 

Participation is restricted to startups registered with the Atal Incubation Centre and nine such participants from Sikkim will attend the event. Minister of state for commerce and industry Som Parkash will also attend the Startup 20 Sikkim Sabha.
