More than 18.8 lakh SIR notices have not been delivered to the voters in Karnataka, while the last day of hearing is on Saturday, September 12.
According to the statement issued by the ECI, more than 24.97 lakh notices have been delivered to electors as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, the CEO's office said on Friday.
The state has 4,46,58,413 electors on the electoral roll as of September 10, comprising 2.21 crore male, 2.24 crore female and 2,874 transgender
electors, it said.
The notices have been issued to electors whose names fall under the 'no mapping' and 'anomalies' categories as part of the electoral roll revision exercise, officials said.
According to a statement issued by the chief electoral officer's office, a total of 43,81,760 notices had been generated across the state as of September 10. Of these, 24,97,075 notices had been successfully delivered, while 18,84,685 were yet to be delivered, resulting in an overall delivery rate of 56.99 per cent.
