In the United States, the White House has condemned the Democratic party move to impeach President Donald Trump.

White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a statement yesterday that the move is a blatant and partisan action to overturn the results of free and fair elections.

She said, they look forward to a fair trial in the Senate. Ms Grisham's statement comes following Speaker Nancy Pelosi's remarks that the House of Representatives will file impeachment charges against

President Trump for alleged abuse of power.

Meanwhile, the House Judiciary Committee in a notice said yesterday that the two Congressional Committees that have been holding the impeachment investigations will hear presentations on the next steps of the process on Monday.

An impeachment vote might take place in the House of Representatives before the end of the year, and a trial in the Senate perhaps as early as January 2020.
