Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan set to hold first defence talks under Mecca pact

Senior officials from Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan will meet in Istanbul on Monday for the first committee meeting under their new joint defence agreement, a Turkish Foreign Ministry source told Reuters.

Foreign and defence ministers, along with the military chiefs of the three countries, will attend the meeting.

The talks are expected to focus on strengthening defence capabilities, improving coordination between their armed forces and expanding defence industry



cooperation, including joint production and development.

"International security issues will be on the agenda," the source told Reuters.

The meeting comes six months after the United States and Israel launched the war against Iran, which has disrupted energy supplies and contributed to a global energy crisis.

The three countries also share concerns over the military policies of both Israel and Iran, adding a wider regional security dimension to the talks.
